A Remote Irish Island Is Looking For Two Friends To Live There For Free And Run Its Coffee Shop

We live in world full of negativity and stress. Many of us would gladly live on a remote island far away. Imagine your life on an exotic island. Well, you can go to Great Blasket Island near the western coast of Ireland. You can also run a coffee shop in the area.

An ad from the Great Blasket’s tourism center asks for two people to manage accommodations and the small coffee shop on the island. Everyone interested would live on the island from April to October. An entire summer without any worries? Why not!

This is the perfect plan for your summer holiday. Leave everything and everyone behind and enjoy your summer.

You can access the island by boat. A summer on a remote island! This will be the summer of your dreams.

Ladies and gentleman, we give you the Great Blasket Island. The island is part of a group of islands on the west of Ireland. It’s the biggest island in the group.

There aren’t too many people on the island. The largest number of residents was 160.

But, they all enjoy the beautiful scenery and peace.

“In the past few years a number of the houses have been restored and amenities provided for visitors to the island,” the website reads.

We call this “PARADISE”

An Cró Mór is the highest point of the island. It’s 292 meters above sea level. It’s a real heaven for those who like hiking.

You’d love the Irish culture and wildlife.

“Looking out to the #Greatblasketisland from the top of the Clasach on this grey, windy, winter’s day. Such a beautiful hike, an absolute must if you’re in the #Dinglearea.”

Did we say that the place has the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises?

Here’s the ad:

There isn’t much information about the salary, but your room and board are free.

Would you stay here? There’s no WiFi, electricity and hot water. That’s not all. “Drinking water is a limited commodity.”

Alice Hayes shared the ad. According to Hayes, the job may be “intense and tough but it’s a very unique position. It’s back to basics — fires, candles, stoves, wildlife, and nature.”

A lot of people showed interest for the place. Thousands of people wanted the job!

“We are beyond overwhelmed at the response for the job post for the Great Blasket Island coffee shop and accommodation. The island is just off the coast of Ireland.

Posting the advert last year, we were concerned we would not find ANYONE willing to leave their job, pack their bags and move to a wind-swept island with no electricity OR hot water in the middle of the Atlantic, off the Dingle peninsula for 6 months of the year!“

“If only we could get everyone who applied to stay for one night, we’d be fully booked for the next 30 years,” they said.

Would you go to this place? We sure would!
